Summary
Evan Buckley has spent his whole life trying to earn a love his parents were never willing to give him.
When one final confrontation ends with the Buckleys cutting him off completely, Buck spirals hard enough that the people who actually love him have no choice but to close ranks around him.
Bobby and Athena remind him he has always been their son in every way that mattered. Maddie stands beside him even when it means facing the family that hurt them both. Eddie stays, steady and furious and impossibly gentle, through every bad night.
Then Buck does something no one expects.
He sues his parents. What follows is ugly, brutal, and public—but Buck wins. And when the settlement finally comes, he uses it the only way Buck knows how: to build something good from the wreckage.
A house. A future. A road trip with the family that chose him.And somewhere along the way, Buck realizes he isn’t trying to survive his life anymore.
He’s ready to live it.
With Eddie. With Chris. With Theo. With all of them. -

Summary
“Apparently journaling helps with emotional processing.”
Which would be great if Buck were processing literally anything except Eddie Diaz.
Told entirely through diary entries spanning nearly two years, this is the story of Buck accidentally documenting every stage of falling in love with his best friend while remaining aggressively oblivious about it

Summary
During Station 118’s community tour day, Buck and Eddie accidentally get locked in a supply closet together.
This would already be bad.
Unfortunately:the closet is the size of a coffin,
Buck ends up in Eddie’s lap for twenty minutes,
all radio transmissions are recorded,
civilians overhear everything,
Hen decides rescue would interfere with “science,” and the entire city becomes convinced Buck and Eddie are dating before Buck and Eddie do.Featuring: accidental pet names, public humiliation, Christopher being the smartest Diaz, and one deeply unfortunate animated reenactment video

Summary
Buck thinks love is supposed to be loud—grand gestures, dramatic moments, fireworks you can’t ignore.
Eddie knows better. Love is making coffee the way someone likes it. Picking up groceries without being asked. Falling asleep on the couch with your feet tangled together.
Over the course of one year, Buck learns that the best kind of love doesn’t arrive all at once. It builds quietly, day by day, until one morning he wakes up and realizes Eddie Diaz is home.

Summary
Buck downloads Duolingo to learn Spanish for Eddie.
Unfortunately, the owl is evil, Christopher is actively sabotaging him, and Buck keeps accidentally saying things like I’m pregnant because of you in the middle of the firehouse.
Eddie should probably make him stop.Instead, he falls even more in love with him.
Or
Buck weaponizes romance languages. The 118 suffers accordingly.

Summary
Eddie meets Evan in the summer of 2010 by a lake in El Paso. Both of them still teenagers, lost in life, and a little lonely. It only takes a smile and a sympathetic ear for the two to become inseparable and promise each other forever.
Eddie meets Buck in the fall of 2018 at a fire station in Los Angeles. It takes more than a smile and an explanation to forgive broken promises, fix broken hearts, rebuild trust and find a way to be a family again.
------------
Bobby is now in front of him introducing him to some of the other firefighters, but Eddie can hardly hear whatever it is they’re saying because he can’t take his eyes off the man standing like a statue a few feet away, with wide deer-caught-in-the-headlights-eyes, open mouth, and white as a sheet of paper. The man who abandoned him and his son three years ago. The man who is still the love of his goddamn life. Captain Nash is waving him over, and Evan finally starts moving, slow and clumsy, like a zombie.
“Eddie, this is Buck. Buck meet Eddie Diaz,” Bobby says.
“Buck?” Eddie asks dumbfounded, still not believing what is happening.

Summary
“Buck, hey, what’s wro—”
Eddie stopped in his tracks.
Buck was just standing there, fully clothed and on two feet. Just a slight grimace on his face as he rolled his shoulder out.
“I’m okay,” he said through clenched teeth. He rolled his shoulder again, letting out a loud cry as something didn’t sit right.
Eddie surged forward, hands touching Buck’s biceps to stop him from moving. “No, you’re not! What happened?”
A guilty look crossed Buck’s face. Eddie raised a brow as their eyes met, waiting for an answer. Buck looked down, then back up to Eddie’s face.
“I kinda forgot how difficult it might be to actually take my clothes off and shower without help from a nurse in a hospital.”
Or; After a traumatising kidnapping, Buck and Eddie take care of each other in the most intimate of ways.

Summary
Buck scoots down and snuggles into the pillows, his lips still stretched in a tiny smile that makes Eddie’s heart flip for a whole different reason. “No, I’m okay. Thank you. But, uhm –”
“What is it?”
“Would you maybe sit with me for a little longer?”
Eddie makes a gentle sound in the back of his throat and immediately lowers his body into the chair he and Chim dragged into the bedroom a few days ago. “You don’t even have to ask, Buck. I’ll be here. You can go to sleep.”
“Thanks, Eds,” Buck says again, his voice breathy as his lashes flutter softly before he promptly falls asleep.
Sleep has been a rare occasion for Buck lately, the withdrawals making him sick and achy and despite the bone-deep exhaustion also restless and oftentimes too anxious to sleep. So, whenever he manages to get a few hours, Eddie and the others watch over him in sheer relief.
Or a 9x15 coda in which Eddie worries, watches over Buck, and stays the night.
