Summary
Steve is having a hard time adjusting to the new normal, after everything that went down. He doesn't want to bother his friends with his problems, though, when they've got so much weight on their shoulders already.
Steve stumbles on an alternate version of Hawkins, where none of it ever happened. Everyone’s alive, his headaches are gone, his friends actually want to hang out with him, and he’s… happy.
(The party has to fight another monster. But this one doesn't prey on people's fears. It preys on their deepest desires.)

Summary
The ground shook and split as ash rained from the sky. It was over. Vecna had won. The slippery bastard had beaten them at their own game.
And then Steve was somehow back in his bedroom. No explanation, no warning. He had no idea how he ended up back in ‘83, but by god he had three years to try and change the tide and he wasn’t going to waste them. And hell, maybe he'll get to that whole 'thrown back in time' thing eventually.
This is a fair warning to anyone who wants to read. I haven’t actually watched the first two seasons in years and never put myself through three and four. To save myself. Love Robin and Eddie and Erika but it’s just not the same. So if you see something and say hey wait a minute that’s not how it- shh. Hush. Silence.

The Rewind!Steve fic. Loved it to pieces. I wanted to bite down on it and shake my head back and forth with a comically warbling growl like a fearsome little dog with its favorite beleaguered squeaky toy. I read this after I got out of the hospital so I kept drifting out into space with it, but it pulled me back every time. Couldn't get enough! My favorite little lab experiment making the best of time travel and a found family that is adopting him whether he wants to be or not (spoiler: he does).

It was really just his luck that a hulking monster lumbered out of the woods and directly onto his driveway. Just his luck that he threw enough parties when his parents were gone that the neighbors had long tuned out any noise that came from his yard. Just a nice cherry on top of the fucking cake that, even if anyone did hear him screaming when claws tangled in his jacket and pulled, Steve honestly wasn’t sure they’d have cared enough to bother anyway.

I literally vibrated with tension and excitement for two thirds of this fic. Steve and Will bonding in the Upside Down is a favorite concept of mine, but this fic NAILED it. The choice to put Steve there earlier than Will by literal months? Inspired.
The way this fic really GETS the characters is a major highlight, but honestly there's no part of it that's NOT done well.

She's alone.
Steve hates the idea of another kid growing up alone.(In which Steve finds Eleven in the winter of ‘83, before Hopper could, and the sudden changes that pull apart his life. Some are far deeper in the bones than he ever could've imagined.)

All-time favorite ongoing Steve-centric fic. Honestly can't believe I didn't bookmark this sooner. Off-the-rails in the BEST way possible, in that MANY things have changed with the canon and there's a lot going on but it's still so true to the characters in a way that gets in the sandbox with the source material with a lot of love for the OGs but a lot of creativity for concepts the OG didn't/couldn't run with. Steve and El siblings supremacy. Werewolf Steve. Slowburn Steddie. Lovable OCs and background characters given life and dimension. The author is SO nice to me on Twitter and I love their interactions with the fans. They always reply to my comments too. I just have a lot of love in my heart for this one. REMINDER: print this out and bind it when it's complete!
