“So… what do you want?” Melanie asks suddenly, breaking the awkward silence.
Elias smirks. “I think you know.”
Melanie groans. “Seriously? Already? I was having such a nice day!” She stands and points to her wall calendar, which has a photo of a cute bat on it.
“You were here last week!” Sure enough, the 4th of february is circled, and written in red marker is: ‘Elias sucked me :(‘. The sad face has little fangs drawn on it.
Elias raises an eyebrow at her. “Surely there has to be a better way to phrase that?”
Melanie shrugs. “Probably, but that's the funniest.”

Peter Spankoffski was born laughing.
If you ask anyone with a medical degree they’d tell you no he fucking wasn’t. Newborns don’t laugh, they can’t. They don’t even smile until a couple weeks out, and laughing is a multi-month project. It’s a developmental stage, you start with socialization, and eventually they start cooing, and then, only then, do you get laughter.
And yet, Peter Spankoffski was born laughing.
