She had even done everything she could to get into law school, only to drop out after her ex boyfriend started spreading rumors about her integrity. After that humiliation, somehow she ended up in Scranton. Even worse, she landed in Dunder Mifflin Paper Co. as a customer service agent.
Her life had gone from this mass of chaos to nothing. She lived with another woman her age and a long haired Persian with only one eye. She barely cooked anymore, settling on takeout after a long day of dealing with customers and her boss (who still lived in the medieval age based on his sexist remarks).
She had fallen into a pit of routine. Every ounce of excitement and joy, and adventure in her life was gone. Besides Jim. Sometimes it felt like with Jim Halpert by her side, she could face anything.

He's grown, she noted.
"Hey," he greets nonchalantly brushing sweaty brown curls off his forehead. He bends down slightly to bridge the gap between their heights. "You should look for a better quarterback; the current one is for lack of a better word, utterly useless."
Her anger flared up at his casual remark, and she snapped, "Are you kidding me right now?"
Isaac's surprise registers in his hazel eyes."I'm sorry, it was a joke. I didn't mean to upset you...," his gaze fixed on her, waiting for her response. It's then that realization hits her.
"Fabray," she forces the words out, swallowing the lump in her throat. "Quinn Fabray."
"Cute name." The boyish smile persisted, his dimples accentuating. Her heart skips a beat at the sight. "Isaac. Isaac Hargrave." In the distance, a call for him rings out, and he glances back, laughter bubbling forth.
"Well, Quinn, I have to go, but it's been nice meeting you."
"Yeah, me too."
