They finish dinner and get in a car to go back to the hotel; like clockwork, like it’s second nature, Sangwon sinks into a seat next to Junseo. His fingers brush Junseo’s thigh as he buckles his seatbelt, and it burns. It all burns. All day, it’s like Sangwon’s been building a fire in the pit of Junseo’s stomach, kindling made up of stolen touches and softly uttered words, promises made but not yet kept.

He punctuates it with a buck of his hips, jostling Leo up in his lap. Sangwon’s clearly plenty warm, practically fully clothed in comparison to how Leo’s all naked and exposed. Leo’s fingers curl tight into the sleeves of Sangwon’s sweater.
“No, it’s — it’s fine. I can stay still,” Leo gasps out, shivering when a cold hand trails down his lower back.
A satisfied hum. “Good.”
Whereas Sangwon gets jealous and Leo swears he really was just cold.

Under the pale light of the rink’s lamps, Leo looks ethereal, almost otherworldly and as soon as he’s done, Sangwon finds himself skating towards his best friend with arms wide open.

Their skates shift slightly beneath them, blades catching on the etched lines of the routine Leo just marked into the rink, but neither of them lets go. Sangwon holds on tightly, as if the program had somehow cracked something open in him, some pride and awe that had been building up for so long and is now pushing him to conquer something even greater.
