Sidney grows up hearing about the types of soulbonds, and every time someone gets gushy about them Sid just rolls his eyes and goes back to whatever it was that he was doing.
Does he want a bond? Yeah, of course, but - after hockey; only after hockey. Some of the guys are already bonded, and that’s awesome for them. Sid likes all of their bondmates, they’re all awesome. But for Sid, it’d just be something else to distract him from the game. -

The scientists like to think that the differing dynamics evolved some time in the far past, at some point when the human population was at risk and the development of various dynamics assured the continued existence of humans. No one really knows, though. It was so long ago that it seems as though there were always dynamics - alpha, beta, omega, gamma, null. If Patrick Kane hadn't loved hockey so early on, he would have gone into biology to try and figure it out.

I wonder how he got that fear in the first place. Did a neon yellow canary named Henry break out of his cage during Show and Tell in school, sit down on his hair and refuse to move? Did Jonny, age 8, watch The Birds alone with his brother at night (it was a dare!) and then something THUDDED! against their window and they just started screaming? (The next day they found a bird corpse underneath that window, too.) Did he just fuck around on the internet one time and learned about the horrors of bird swooping season?
We just don’t know.
Or, five times Jonathan Toews is afraid of birds, and one time he isn't.

So, Kaner has a beard. That's new. And strange. Because Kaner has proven for years that the beard is just beyond him, which is why he has the playoff mullet rather than the playoff beard, so when Jonny sees him for the first time at the end of the break, he doesn't really know what to say, aside from chirping him.
