Sometimes, things have to be broken before than can be fixed. Great in theory, a bit harder when the broken thing is the Ministry, and the only person willing to fight with you used to be your enemy.
This is a slow burn, but good things are worth waiting for.

Summary
The trio is back at Hogwarts for their 8th year. Hermione is in relationship with Ron, something that had felt natural after everything that had happened. She doesn't want to admit to herself that she's miserable, unhappy and has no motivation to live. She definitely doesn't want to admit out loud that she's not in love with Ron, never has been and never will be.
While Ron and Harry don't seem to notice anything wrong with the witch, there is specific someone who does. He keeps eye on Hermione, who seems to lose a piece of herself piece by piece every day. Draco has always noticed everything about Hermione, even when he couldn't admit it to himself but now he does.
And as he does, he notices how sad Hermione seems, how she doesn't carry herself confidently like she used to but rather slouches and tries to make herself as small as possible.

Set after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry Potter is dead.
The Order is broken and Voldemort now rules openly.
Clear wizarding class divides are in effect and those that survived are carving their own new paths, new wizarding laws require all witches and wizards under 20 to complete seven years of education at Hogwarts.
Key points for world building;
- Harry is dead
- Neville is dead
- Snape is dead
- School houses have been disbanded, replaced by a two-class system of Pures and Filths.
- Voldemort openly rules in the UK, and Hogwarts is firmly under the new Ministry’s control.
- Death Eater families now hold the highest status. With victory in hand, those that sided with Voldemort have been raised to positions of power and import (the Malfoys included)

Eaten alive by her grief, Hermione spends her time occluding and burying herself in her work as an Unspeakable, until Theo brings her to visit Draco's grave on their wedding day. An encounter with an ancient wishing well on the grounds of Malfoy Manor ends up changing everything when Hermione feels compelled to wish for more time with Draco.
The next morning, Hermione wakes up three years in the past, unaware of how she ended up there, but determined to save Draco's life. Hermione spends her time in the past isolating herself from her friends, while trying to solve a case alongside Draco for the DMLE that turns out to be connected to his eventual death in the future.

Who is his host and how did he became the very monster, who managed to capture her heart?A true love story with a happy ending.
