A freehold property is owned completely, with no limit on time, like Dean being owned by Michael.
To be in abuttal means one property shares a border or boundary with another property, like Crowley coming right up next to Sam in the year before season 8. It takes real effort to figure out where one ends and one begins.

"I've never, y'know, had a guy suck my dick before," Steve blurted, suddenly nervous. Eddie already knew that, Steve knows he already knew that, but he felt the urge to say it anyway.
"Let me show you what it's like, then," Eddie said, eyes dark, and moved down Steve's body.
Or: Steve's had sex with women before, but never with a man. He's excited to try it out with his new, slightly more experienced boyfriend Eddie, though.
