“I’m trying to understand why you’re so lonely, Erwin.”
“Lonely?” Erwin whispers. “I’m not lonely.”
Levi doesn’t respond, and Erwin knows he hasn’t convinced him. Is that what this is, then? Two lonely people following the road together. Erwin thinks of the way Levi clung to him last night, and feels a surge of melancholy. Perhaps it is not so bad having a companion for the road. Perhaps they both need one.

Summary
Zeke and the Commander are similar in many regards. The Commander is intelligent; the Commander is a Titan shifter; the Commander has his own Ackerman - perhaps he and Zeke will be alike in that respect someday, too.
Although, if Zeke were to have it his way, he would take the Commander’s Ackerman for himself. It would not be something they would share.

He cradles Erwin's hand gently, turning it over to look at the wound. "It'll leave a scar when it heals." He says, not looking at Erwin but feeling his gaze at him all the same.
There's a hint of a smile in Erwin's voice when he speaks, "It's no matter. Just another scar among many others."
Levi hums, wondering if Erwin usually forgives this easily.

Today was different though. As Erwin crouched down to place the plate of food on the stoop - which was no longer served on paper plates, Erwin had purchased some proper feeding bowls for the cat - he felt a soft pressure along his ankle.
“Oh, hello there,” Erwin cooed to the cat as he froze in place. He’d tried holding his hand out for the cat to investigate before, but the feline had kept its distance and all but turned its nose up as though Erwin’s hand was offensive to him. So he stayed still, letting the cat rub its cheek against his pant leg. Pacing back and forth between Erwin’s ankles and rubbing against him on every pass.
“Finally feeling friendly are we?” Erwin asked teasingly and gambled a finger. Holding his hand out in the cat's direction.
The cat ignored Erwin’s hand, continuing to rub against his legs for another moment before the food gained control of his focus. Instead of going inside and watching the cat like normal, Erwin crouched down further. Sitting on the stoop and observing the cat up close.
