    No, this was never a case, and never could be one.
    He calls himself a hero for the same reason he's slowly killing himself – because saving everyone else has always cost him more than anyone has ever guessed.
    But how and why? That was the「truth
    」that couldn't be grasped, something lurking in the shadows of frost and mystery.
    That's right. Was.
    One entity, whose name is false, whose identity is unknown, who introduced themselves as the Warden, decided to alter that constant.
    A show.
    Against Satella, whose fingerprints are already on this. Against the instinct in all of them to look away from pain instead of at it. Against the story itself – a story that has only ever been able to acknowledge everyone's suffering except his.

    The night before Subaru's arrival to Lugunica, Roswaal lets slip a careless remark during Ram’s nightly mana treatment - one which reveals to her a single detail from the Gospel’s prophecy, and becomes the spark that changes everything.

    On the following day, Ram, armed with the foreknowledge and resolve to save herself a great deal of trouble, avoids losing her Liege in the crowd of the Capital.

    A small deviation from the preordained. Yet even the tiniest change can send ripples through fate, as history strays from the path of prophecy.

    This new path - one nobody could have predicted - will lead Ram and the dark-haired youth she meets in a dark alleyway, through Twists and Turns | To Make Ram/Barusu a Thing.

    Note: This has originally started as an experiment, as the early chapters show in their quite unique, summary style, but as it moved along, it has grown and expanded, until it became a bit of a phenomenon, and a full fledged Fanfiction, that now has a co-author in PiroMonster, a Beta in Falal, and even a bit of a following, with multiple other Fanfictions taking inspiration from it. So, in order to have the cover reflect the content, this new, updated summary was born.

There is an odd meteor front and center, and a glass jar to their left that has locked one of their dear comrades just out of arm’s reach.

    A demonstration focused on the Unsung Hero, Natsuki Subaru, begins — and the meteor comes to life.
