The lights go out. Steve keeps his eyes fixed just left of the thing, can just barely make out a shoulder and sort-of head in the light of the moon, and tries to swallow back the sickening feeling of being hunted. He wants to run for his house but he can’t. He can’t, because if he takes his eyes off the thing for even a second, he won’t know where it is, and that’s scarier than seeing it.
But then- then Steve’s vision blurs for just a moment too long, and when he blinks away the tears and looks, it’s gone.

This is one of those cute 5+1 trope things but I'm also a sucker for angst so there's a few healthy spoonfuls of angst in there as well for your reading pleasure.

His childhood friend will say he's a little weird, switches from polite speech to swears-a-lot at the drop of a hat, and has the habit of giving things away as much as he collects them. His classmates and teachers in U.A will say he's too nosy for his own good, rummages through all the pots in the campus way too much, and is often unfazed by anything thrown his way. No matter how bizarre it may be.
Regardless, they all think he'll be a great hero.
