Ambos se apoyaron en los momentos más difíciles de su vida, pero la vida siempre encuentra la forma de separar a las almas a fines.
Entonces un día, Spencer aparece nuevamente, de vacaciones y con la intención de quedarse con Mike el tiempo suficiente para olvidar, aunque claro, ¿cómo iba a saber él que su mejor amigo esta enamorado de su egocéntrico y sensual jefe? ¿cómo iba a saber Mike que Reid estaba escapando de su jefe después de que hayan tenido una noche de descontrol y pasión?

Once Hotch and Spencer are back home, Aaron does everything he can to reassure Spencer that he is more than just the insults from one man.
(It becomes pure self-indulgent romantic fluff towards the end. I'm not that heartless for an unhappy ending)

“I think I would be a real good big brother,” Jack noted one Saturday morning as Spencer assisted him in mixing the pancake batter Hotch had stashed in one of the top cabinets. Hotch was sipping coffee out of a mug Jack had made him at school - it was adorned with big bold letters that read ‘MY DADS A SUPERHERO’ and Hotch favored it over most other projects his son had created for him - when the words registered in his mind.
His brain tried to form a coherent response but instead, he sputtered as his caramel flavored coffee dripped down his chin and onto the tablet displayed on the table. Spencer whirled on him as he coughed and Hotch wiped frantically at his mouth as Jack followed his gaze with a wide-eyed stare.
