what makes me love this fic so much more is how deeply personal it was in every aspect. i always wax poetic about the humanity and emotional depth of fics, but i want to honor this one for the special brand of sincerity it holds. it's like finding a friend you feel in your bones you'd keep for life. every time i opened ao3 to read was like catching up over cozy cups of coffee. i'll miss this character ensemble years forward like childhood friends :') this story was born out of love. i'm happy for you, op. your narration is so sweet and hopeful and alive. thank you <3

Quirkless as the day he was born, Izuku is determined to become a hero and takes the Yūei entrance exam. With the highest written exam score in over a decade, he is offered admission to General Studies, Class 1-C. The editor-in-chief of the school paper approaches Izuku after finding his misplaced notebook and asks if he would like to to become a staff writer. Urged to turn his Hero Analysis journals into a column, he agrees, with the caveat he can go by a pen name.
The column is a success, quickly amassing a huge following, and it becomes a mark of social pride in the Hero Department to be featured in an article by "Deku."Izuku has, at the same time, developed a very inconvenient crush on a very pretty, very unapproachable student in 1-A. That's not really a problem, since Izuku is basically invisible to a guy like him anyway.
Well... it wasn't a problem, until Izuku accidentally publishes a huge confessional op-ed piece, broadcasting his feelings for the world to read.Meanwhile, poor Shōto is dealing with his asshole father and just wants to eat his cold soba in peace.

this story oozes tenderness. its like holding a bleeding heart whenever i open to read it, each word a pulse that reminds me this is alive. this is what love is
this fic is so painfully human that it breathes n moves w so much ease. ur storytelling n dialogue r some of d most fluid n immersive ive seen, and its so fucking impressive how u crafted ur narration to serve as its own world building. noone has ever said "you fiend" in a silly gay anime fanfic n gotten away w it as smoothly. the characters all come n go then come together w such grace. ive genuinely never read fictional dynamics more natural n humane. The desk in front of her is, now that the ground under Megumi seems to be wobbling, much more inviting. Megumi sits, his elbow landing on Nobara’s desk, his arm blocking him from the rest of the room’s view.
“He does not,” says Megumi, “have a crush on me. He’s there for the dogs.”
Itadori Yuuji likes dogs; Megumi has dogs. It's as simple as that.

Haibara’s head tilts to the side. “What’s that?” he asks.

Haibara blinks. There’s something that dances in his eyes. “Coming right up, Nanami!”
Nanami pulls his eyes away and tugs at his tie again. His gaze trails to the street outside, and when he blinks, he almost thinks he sees a flash of pink dart behind a nearby lamppost. When he squints outside, though, there’s nothing to be seen except a few meandering passerbys.
“Strange,” he murmurs to himself. The familiar noise of shuffling paper against glass makes him glance back to the counter, where two baguettes in a paper bag are being slid over the glass surface.

Megumi's not so much 'abandoned' by his father in the grocery store as he is 'unfortunately misplaced'. For some strange reason-what could only be divine intervention-Gojo helps the kid set a trap to find his Dad (apparently a box of cigs and free beer is all it takes to attract a man), and ends up meeting Toji Fushiguro: DILF extraordinaire.
Or, the one where Gojo Satoru weasels his way into the Fushiguro family using Megumi as a battering ram to break down Toji's door.

“Now will you listen to me?” the stranger says. “How did you even get up here?”
“Same way you did,” Yuuji says. He can faintly hear the sound of someone singing from an apartment below.
“I doubt that,” the stranger says. His eyes narrow.
Yuuji shrugs. “What are you two investigating?” Yuuji asks. “By the way, I’m Itadori Yuuji.”
The stranger sighs. “Fushiguro Megumi. Please, head back inside.”
“Alright, fine,” Yuuji says. He walks back to the edge of the building and looks down. “I just need a second to figure out how to get back down without breaking anything.”
“Don’t hurt yourself,” Megumi says.
“I’ll be fine,” Yuuji says. “I mean I don’t want to break the building.”
“What?” Megumi says. Yuuji’s already flipped over the edge.
Yuuji lands in a crouch in a patch of grass. He brushes off his pants at the knees as he stands.
“What are you, a gymnast?” Megumi calls from the roof.
“No.” Yuuji squints as he smiles up at Megumi’s figure in the distance. “I’m a firefighter.”

Yuuji moved to Canada when he was 14. Kenjaku lost track of him. Canon happened without him.
Seven years later, Yuuji comes back to Tokyo.
