and at first, joshua doesn’t really register the conversation, flipping through the shots of the bright pink tulips while vernon explains that they’re both korean and just trying to finish a project. but then he looks up and matches the low laugh with a new, refreshingly kind face that doesn’t really seem to suit the marks he has laying on his skin. it’s a thought he stops himself from having almost immediately—he’s being a hypocrite and he’s well aware, but he doesn’t think he’s seen anything like what’s bloomed on this stranger’s neck and it fascinates him.
