Eddie swipes away from the conversation and shoves his phone into his pocket. He swallows down the whine that threatens to permeate the innocent air of the store, and with clammy hands, pushes his cart to self-checkout so none of these poor cashiers ask if he's having a medical emergency from how red his face is. Is he drooling? He doesn’t think he’s drooling – at least, not from the mouth.
On autopilot, he loads his thankfully non-perishable groceries into his backseat and navigates his vehicle safely and calmly through the winding downtown streets to Buck’s apartment.

(Basically a huge ball of fluff thrown into a fanfic I wrote at 2am in the morning! In this universe men getting pregnant is just as common as women and I completely ignored the whole Buck helping his friends have a baby story line! This is his first time getting anyone pregnant lol! It had to be Eddie ;) )

“You know how I’m working to become a firefighter?” Chris smiled widely. “Well as it turns out, we live right across from a fire station. I think the siren is what startled us.”
Christopher’s lit up almost as brightly as the sirens above a firetruck.
“Cool! Can I see?”
“Sure thing buddy, but first, dinner and bed.”
Chris grumbled a little for it, but the promise of pizza had him forgetting about the fire station in no time.
Eddie was sure it’d be the same for him. Once they got used to the loud sirens, the station would just blend into the background. It wasn’t like Eddie was ever going to meet anyone there or and end up close with them or anything like that.

Eddie gets a new apartment, one that has a window looking right out to a fire station. He definitely doesn’t take note of a particular firefighter with blue eyes and long ass legs.

Eddie is all fucking over him.
He falls asleep with his body sprawled over the broad expanse of Buck’s chest and wakes up with his face buried into the skin of his neck. They watch a movie together on Eddie’s couch and Eddie practically sits in his lap, head tucked under Buck’s chin as he blinks at the screen. When they’re alone, Eddie can’t stop himself from peppering kisses to Buck’s lips and his cheeks and his forehead as Buck giggles and pretends to try and duck. Under the dinner table every night, Eddie will hook his foot around Buck’s ankle and make Buck duck his head into a flushed smile. And Eddie is always, always holding Buck’s hand—running errands and in their own bed and at the grocery store and across the console while Buck’s driving them to work.
Maybe he’s just in the honeymoon stage. Or maybe this is how he’ll always feel—like every second he’s not touching Buck is a second wasted.
