Buck nodded to himself, the clicking of the keyboard a soft lull as he worked on editing his photos. It was almost comforting sound, like rain against glass, softly pattering as it fell. The silence lingered between them, but it wasn’t uncomfortable or heavy. Every now and then, Buck would pause to take a drink of water or he could hear Eddie’s quiet movements, but neither of them moved from their spots against the wall, making sure the other could hear them in the vent if they were to speak.
After around three or four minutes, Eddie was the one who broke the silence, his voice thicker with sleep. Buck wasn’t even sure if the man was fully awake now. “We should probably try and get some sleep, I have to take Chris to school in the morning and then a shift. What do you say we do this again tomorrow night? Same place and time?”

Now, Spencer and Diego were a couple.Things worked so much better away from the stress, betrayal, strategies, and the temptation of a one-million-dollar prize. They definitely worked better this way. Spencer felt comfortable in his relationship with Diego. They visited each other, or arranged trips, and this time, Diego would be the one coming to the UK. Spencer was genuinely happy.
To top it all off, their first anniversary was coming up. Not to say it was the day after tomorrow. Everything had to go perfectly. Even though showing romantic affection was still a bit challenging for him, he would make an effort for Diego and for the love he felt. He knew Diego was the kind of man who loved romance, so despite it being slightly difficult for him, he would push through.

“What’s going on? Did I miss something, or–” Tommy starts, chuckling lightly.
“Yeah actually, I think you did.” Eddie’s voice carries across the loft, shutting up Tommy immediately. It’s much more accusatory and pointed than before, not a hint of wariness to it. Eddie takes his time as he stalks back over into the open plan kitchen and dining room area, shaking the bottle in front of him as he does.
“Ibuprofen.”
Tommy looks between the bottle and Eddie’s stoic face, still completely clueless. “Yeah? That’s what it says on the label.”
Buck hardly hears Tommy say this to Eddie, the word Ibuprofen echoing around the walls of his mind. Oh, God.

Eddie didn’t lose Buck to a tsunami that almost took his son as well. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Bobby’s inability to separate his personal feelings about Buck from Buck’s ability to work. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Taylor Kelly. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Lucy Donato. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to Natalia Dollenmeyer. Eddie didn’t lose Buck to a fucking lightning bolt even when Buck was technically dead for 3 minutes and 17 seconds. Eddie certainly didn’t lose Buck to Thomas Kinard when he and Tommy dated the first time.
So, no. Eddie was not going to lose Buck to Tommy now. Eddie didn’t even realize he was apparently in a competition? with Tommy. But if Tommy thought he was winning? Felt a little bad but. There hadn’t been anything left to say. Now, though. The instinct is only half an instinct, for half a second. Because of the over-riding instinct. How Eddie has kept note, without conscious decision, of Bucks current whereabouts and who-with-ness from the moment he got off the phone with him a week ago. The call where Buck told him that Bobby was dead. So, he answers the phone immediately.
