5 years.
It's been five whole years since Mike actually saw Will. There was always the occasional “Happy birthday” or “Merry Christmas”, never anything else. Will never reach out beside those small comments, neither did he.
Mike always slept like a baby, that was until he started to see him in his dreams. He doesn’t know how, or even why this started. He would just see a sudden flash of a figure no matter the dream. It took him a while to realize or even who it was, but of course there was no denying it.
It was Will Byers.

Mike and Will moved far from each other after high school. They thought it was the best for them both, to not see each other. That all changes when Mike keeps seeing Will in his dreams, over and over again. Finally, he does something about it.
