Summary
Alvaro huffs a laugh “long night with your boyfriend?” there is a vague ripple of teasing laughter, Jannik’s face heats up and he ducks his head. Something inside Carlos snaps.
“He’s not my boyfriend.” Carlos says abruptly. “We aren’t- We are not together.” His words come out sharper, it releases a tension he has been carrying since he sat down.
Carlos clears his throat, fixes his gaze at the table. He expected some teasing, for Alvaro to punch his shoulder saying they seem like they are together, or for Juanki to scoff and say that they were very much together when he found them this morning.
None of that happens, instead, a tension thickens, an audible crunch as someone swallows their toast. He dares a glance up at the table and he can immediately see why. Jannik has frozen, his knife and fork still perched half way into cutting his omelet. He is staring at Carlos, his mouth half open - he is staring at Carlos with wide eyes, shock written across his face.
(Or: Jannik and Carlos have very different ideas of what kind of relationship they are in, Carlos has to fix it.)

It’s rather a quiet affair. Jannik is so concentrated on alternating between looking at the sky and the screen that Carlos doesn’t even feel awkward for the silence that settles between them. He lays down, puts a hand under his head and stares up at the sky, at the stars, and tries to let the moment seep into his skin, get branded deep in his memory — Jannik’s huffs of breath, the way he clicks his tongue when the thinks, his earthy scent.
Carlos wishes he could touch him.
“What do you usually do in your free time?”
As soon as the sentence leaves Carlos’ mouth, he cringes.
Jannik gives him a strange look. “I look for extraterrestrial life. But you know that.”

Yoongi’s fingers close around the gem, and Jungkook jolts horribly, throwing his head back with a terrible scream, but this time it’s choked off instantly as his face pales, big eyes shining with terror before he crumples lifelessly to the ground.

The fear jolting through Jungkook's limbs intensifies, and Jin doesn't look away from Jimin’s grey face as he takes a short breath. “It… maybe. But… Jungkook might... not make it.”
Everything is greying, wavering, and there's a faint ringing in his ears as he holds out a shaking arm in front of him, fingers trembling from the frigid cold or the paralyzing fear. Namjoon’s voice is steady when he speaks. “Jungkook, we don’t want to hurt you-”
“Then don’t, please, please don’t hurt me!” Jungkook cries. “Please, they - they hurt me so much already, please.”
He yanks at the torn shirt, pulls it open desperately, hears their sharp intakes of breath at the ragged bites on his neck, his deeply bruised arms and shoulders, the scabbing flesh over his ribs. Hoseok shudders and closes his eyes. There's no change in Namjoon’s expression, but Taehyung’s eyes are wide where he still kneels beside Jimin's unconscious form, and Jin looks devastated.

Jungkook's knees buckle, sound wavering and vision swimming as the words strangle through him, but he's aware enough of the echoing crackle of the twigs he lands on, and the sudden swivel of six stricken gazes to face him, and the screaming panic of his heart as he staggers up uselessly. And the rough, unyielding grasp of Namjoon and Taehyung's hands as they lunge for him, dragging him back before he can even try to run.OT6 plan to sacrifice Duke Jeon's son under the full moon to break a curse, but they didn't account for Jeon Jungkook being the sweetest, gentlest, kindest boy they ever met.
