“Sir Gaheris?” A voice Gaheris was uncomfortably re-acquainted with broke the near silence of the night. Gaheris bobbed his head vaguely as Beaumains came to stand beside him. He wouldn’t think of the younger man as Gareth, not yet anyways.
Gareth, in his mind, was still several feet shorter than him and still chubby with baby fat. Gareth was a warm weight against his ribs at night, so long as Father and Mother never heard of it. Gareth was scared of thunderstorms and dark nights and thought cheese grew on trees. If Beaumain’s eyes sparkled the same green they were not as bright, so they couldn’t be the same.
