Curt plans to kill his ex-lover and take down Chimera. But as it turned out, those two things are inextricably linked, and after a confrontation goes horribly, horribly wrong, he realises that Chimera has been pulling the strings in ways that even he couldn't comprehend.

Sometimes, Owen looks back on their years together and sees an amusement park. All the games they played are covered in rust-colored dust, hiding from the agencies and from Curt’s mother and even themselves, the panels of the swing ride of playful banter and swooping hearts moulded through, their varnish tarnished.
Curt doesn't kill Owen. Instead, he takes them both back to Ms. Mega's house. Owen isn't pleased.

But Curt didn’t count on a certain British spy with a rusty Russian accent and deep brown eyes who just might change everything.
Every person has a rhythmic beating at the center of their chest, next to their heart, that lets them know when they’re physically close to their soulmate.
