The word left his mouth before he could think about what it meant. He prayed Venom didn’t know what it meant or just wouldn’t notice it.
Language can only explain so much. It was developed to accurately describe the human experience, so when used to explain something that is distinctly not human, it fails. Sweetheart was just one of the words that expresses the type of connection they have. There are no exact words for the bond they have, so using it doesn’t mean it’s like that, right?

Eddie represses his feelings towards Venom.

Ohhh, David realises as he gets handed a plate. Okay, I got it. He was surprised that Bobby’s son hadn’t come up when Michael first mentioned his children given how much emphasis he put on the positive co-parenting relationship their family unit strived to maintain. But then again – Buck was obviously much older than Michael and Athena’s two children if he had a child the same age as Harry. The step/co-parenting dynamic would clearly be completely different than it was with May and Harry.

The one where David is determined to prove that he’s in it with Michael for the long-haul, and that includes accepting and caring about the children of the Grant-Nash household. All 3 of them.

“Shut up,” Buck grumbles at the dog. “It’s not a crush.”
Buck walks out of the room, out the backdoor, and into the yard, trying to ignore his large and judgmental dog following behind him.
“I don’t want to hear it,” Buck tells him as he gets the hose out to start watering his plants. “Keep it to yourself.”
“Who are you talking to?”
Buck startles and drops the hose, doing a quick 180-degree turn and coming face-to-face with Eddie. He’s clearly standing on something, elbows folded over the top of the fence and chin resting on them as he looks at Buck. His expression looks almost fond and it kind of makes Buck want to both preen and die of embarrassment.

Followed by;
Buck, spluttering Aren’t you and Maddie not together?? and Chim practically howling YOU SLEPT WITH EDDIE?

Barry has to replay her words in his mind a couple of times to process them. He turns to Caitlin, mouth slightly dry:
“Did you just say dating?”
Caitlin looks at him like he's an idiot. “Yes?”
She's so confident Barry can't help actually feeling like an idiot, though he has no clue why he should. She's the one who's talking nonsense.
“We're not- it's not-” he babbles. Why is he babbling? It's just a simple misunderstanding. “Why do you think we're dating?”
“Because you are?”
Now both Caity and Cisco are gaping at him like he's completely nuts.
This is preposterous. If Barry had been dating someone, he would definitely have noticed.
“No, we're not!”
“Oh my god, Caity.” Cisco frantically grabs Caitlin's arm. “He doesn't know!”OR

There should have been nothing remarkable about two people in a busy cafeteria, but Becket takes in the familiar sight of curly hair, brown eyes, and a t-shirt with a science pun on it talking animatedly alongside Actual Anthony Edward Stark and promptly drops his lunch.
He gapes for a solid second, seeing but not believing. It definitely doesn’t look like Mr. Stark is forcing the kid to leave, or firing him, or escorting him to security given the relaxed smiles on both of their faces. If anything, Becket thinks Mr. Stark looks rather proud.
“So, uh, Mr. Stark definitely knows Roomba-Kid,” Becket says and discreetly tilts his head in the direction of the pair.
“Oh my god,” Jess says. She almost sounds gleeful. “Oh my god, he’s not just some random kid. He’s Mr. Stark’s kid.”
