Rozanov just blinks at him like a drowsy—albeit handsome—cat. For a brief moment, Shane thinks that perhaps the other man hadn’t heard him. Maybe Rozanov can do that freaky thing where he sleeps with his eyes fully open. Shane wouldn’t know—after all, neither of them has ever spent the night.
But then Rozanov tosses his head back and laughs.

PSA: This is the extended cut of the fic 'I Hope She's Good To You'. The original version was roughly 5000 words which I cut 1000+ from because it was a lot of me going wild in imagination land, but you guys were so lovely and said that you would like to see the full version, so I sat down and polished it and now it has doubled in length because I can't help myself. As a result, this part makes perfect sense as a standalone, but if you enjoy the idea and want a shorter version with less side character padding, feel free to read part one instead.

Five months after Sochi, Shane's set to play a charity hockey game in Paris. So is Ilya.
They run into each other in the lobby of their hotel the night before. Twelve hours stretch out in front of them, and Ilya suggests something different: no phones, no expectations, no past, no hockey. Just the city, and whatever they can be when nobody else is watching.
It's obviously a terrible idea, but Shane says yes, anyway.

Just a little fix it fic. Shane doesn’t end up leaving Ilya’s house. Some things are the same/similar. This should basically fit in between tuna melts and Tampa Bay.

Ilya was not sick. His head was fine, maybe just a little uncontrollable sometimes. So, when Galina called him a half-hour after his appointment, recommending he contact a psychiatrist, he was perplexed. He only wanted to talk, have someone disconnected from him to understand him and his language. He would not let Shane bear his dead weight, so he would reach out to the psychiatrist's office. If not for Ilya, for his husband.
Ilya stands in their kitchen, while Shane shifts nervously on his feet. Ilya knows he would never say it out loud, but Shane’s trepidation is palpable, like the pill in his palm is real.
“What did she say to do?”
Ilya snorts. “Is just medicine, Shane. I think I can figure it out.”Or, Ilya's antidepressants cause trouble in, and outside, of the bedroom.
