In another world, Midorya had walked down the stairs not 10 minutes after All Might left. In another world, he had been gifted a quirk passed down generation to generation.
In another one, he never clung on to All Might. In another world, he had went home still excited to get a signature. Only slightly disappointed he never asked his question. He did not get into UA, but he did good in his own way.
In another world, things went almost exactly the same. He stayed on that apartment complex’s roof. He let go, and fell. He didn’t get up.
But those were all other worlds.
In this world, he gets up.

Molly pressed his hand to his own face. It must not have been nearly as flushed, but he could feel the way his smile loosened after several hearty drinks. Licking his teeth, he looked lazily at Caleb. “I can leave some coin for them.”
“Oh, she’s not your responsibility.” Caleb said, eyes unwavering from where his gaze was set on Nott.
Molly snorted. “She’s not yours, either.” he said, and immediately regretted it as he watched Caleb’s jaw harden.
