Summary
The marks would burn thrice in a person’s lifetime. First, when one comes of age, when the black lines scorched a particular spot on their bodies where their soulmates would later touch them. Second, when they first encounter their other halves, and because love happens slowly then all at once, the third and final burn is when they finally realize that they’ve fallen in love with each other.
