Summary
Sure, they've saved the world, but the best part of that really is that it doesn't end there and in a town where everyone thinks he murdered a girl, he's at least got Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley. It's really not his fault he accidentally starts living at Steve's house, he was invited, after all. There's a mystery too, about Barbara Holland and Steve's pool.
“Your boner is digging into me,” says Robin, and Steve snorts a tired sort of laugh.
“I don’t have a —”
“You do, I can feel it. Gross.”
“Okay, but it’s only a little one,” he says in a small voice which sounds like he’s impersonating someone.
“Are you ever going to let that go? I peed a little bit when the Russians got the torture devices out, okay?” She sounds amused, though.
Eddie jolts. “Russian torture devices?”
Robin carries on like she didn’t hear him but Steve catches his eye and he’s grinning. “How do you even have a boner dude? You were definitely having a nightmare I know your twitching means a nightmare… Did you have a boner over Vecna?”

Summary
Steve is about to take the reclining chair —knowing that he won’t be getting much sleep even if he tries— when Eddie stops him with a hand on his arm. “No way, Harrington, you’re taking the bed.”
“But what about you?” Steve asks. Because this is Eddie’s trailer and it’s his bed and he’s been sleeping inside a tiny boat under a tarp for two days. He deserves a nice, comfortable mattress for once.
Eddie shrugs, getting close to Steve in that way he tends to do, keeping his voice low so the kids don’t hear him, even though they’re busy pushing the sleeping bags and the couch as close as they can. “Do you really think I’m about to get any sleep when there’s a gate to hell right here? No, man, I’m sitting here and keeping watch.”
“I was gonna keep watch—”
“No, you’re our resident Demobat slayer. We need you in perfect condition, and right now, you look like shit.”
or after returning from the Upside Down, they spend the night in Eddie’s trailer. Eddie takes care of Steve.

Summary
He’s in the middle of deciding to worry about it in the morning (or after sleeping on this floor for a few hours) when he hears it. The phone - the real phone, through the gate and hanging on the wall of his real trailer - is ringing.
Answering it isn’t exactly within the realm of possibility here, so he lets it ring. For a single delusional moment, he thinks that maybe Wayne will pick up the phone. It hits him all at once, then. That he’s been accused of, like, several murders. That his trailer, the only real home he’s ever had, is probably still an active crime scene. That he doesn’t have a goddamn clue where his uncle is. That he doesn’t have a goddamn clue where anyone is.
As he lays there, realizing how far out of his depth he is, the answering machine clicks.
OR: Steve leaves Eddie a message.

When Steve woke up, he was alone.
It wasn't a rare thing, his parents were often out of the house. Sometimes they'd be gone for a month or more on some business trip his dad had to go on for work (Steve never asked where or for how long, at least not after the first few times when they started switching up plans and staying longer. And besides that, he really just stopped caring).
Sometimes they'd only be gone for a few days and then show back up randomly with no call to let him know they were on their way back.
Or: Steve's parents are shitty and Eddie is a good boyfriend. TW for use of the f-slur and homophobic behavior.

Summary
It had taken them a month, the first time. To fall. Or, at least, it had for Stede. (Always a step behind, never able to see what was in front of him). It took another month to find him again, after Stede returned to the sea with only a small boat and the clothes on his back. Two more since their uneasy stalemate on the Revenge, cohabiting in opposite corners; a fractured crew on a floating box, miles from anywhere.
Two months after Stede and the crew return to the Revenge, a storm hits and Ed can't sleep. He asks Stede to tell him a story.

“Stede,” Ed says and then buries his head in Stede’s neck, his chin bristly against the soft skin. “This is real yeah? I’m not fucking dead or something?”
“No one’s dead,” Stede says firmly, petting his head. “Though that does remind me we are in a certain amount of peril right now.”
“Oh fuck, right,” Ed says, looking up. “So this is a rescue then?”
“Well, yes,” Stede says, trying not to feel offended. “Did you think it was a conjugal visit?”
