“I can alter my body temperature,” the vex explains, pulling the avian closer to himself. “I prefer cold most of the time, though.”
Grian… supposes that makes sense, considering how little he knows about vex magic. He just doesn't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to be cold all the time. He also realizes the flaw in considering ‘Scar’ and ‘in his right mind’ would ever belong in the same sentence.
Or,
Scar is Grian's living heater and they try (and fail) to cuddle like normal people.
