Summary
Eddie Kaspbrak is thirty-two, recently divorced, and packing up his life to move to New York.
On the drive down to stay with one of his childhood best friends he finds a radio show called Trash Talk with a host that goes by the name of Trashmouth.
“As always it’s just me and my producer Stan the Man- he's really manning the phone line tonight as it lights up with all the calls from my adoring fans.” There’s a beat of silence that followed for dramatic effect before the host laughed at his own joke.
His voice has a slight nasal tone to it, and Eddie should find it annoying, but he doesn’t. Eddie even snorted in amusement at the dramatic silence with a smile forming at the corners of his mouth. He turned the volume up.
“Ah yes, my favorite sound in the world- Stan's frown and a dead phone line. But fear not! I don’t need anyone else to bless your ears with my endless chatter. I’m perfectly capable of holding engaging conversations on my own. Just ask all the duds I’ve gone on dates with.”

Mika is 21 and in her last year of college instead of high school and all the boys have aged up too. These are adults in their early to late twenties.I love this game but I have some things I wish the story did instead. This is my little rewrite, mostly just Sam's story. Don't take this seriously as me trying to rewrite canon, I'm just exploring ideas I had for the story to flesh it out more.

Mike Wheeler has had several moments of clarity in his life.
Some small- so small they arrive as whispers, delicate impressions. They pass through him like half-formed thoughts, leaving behind embossed truths that only become crisp upon later inspection.
Others are seismic shifts, sudden and catastrophic, splitting him open and demanding his attention. Every one of them is significant. He just hasn’t always been very good at recognizing them when they happen. He’s better now. At least, he’s getting there.

Or, Mike Wheeler is entirely in love with Will Byers. It just took him a while to realize, to understand. In reality, his love for Will has always been innate- a part of who he is, inseparable from himself. The only problem is, Mike is pretty sure Will has moved on, that he’s gotten over his crush. Paladin Mike’s jaw tightened. “I do not own him,” he said immediately. “He is—” He stopped, swallowing. His eyes went back to Will softening, and that softness made Mike hate him even more. He could recognize the look, and saw it mirrored in his own eyes countless times.

“He is the Light. By your oath, I am bound to him. My liege.” He bowed his head slightly toward Will, his mouth wrapped around the word like it was a prayer. “My cleric.” He said after, softer.
“Oh my god.” Will flushed, impossibly. “That is crazy. He is actually crazy."
Max, who had been standing with her arms crossed behind them, muttered, “Jesus Christ,” under her breath.
Mike Wheeler is going to explode, because there is an alternate, armoured version of him, following Will Byers around like he belonged to him.

Michael stepped closer to Will, until he was nearly pressed against his side. He looked at him, head tilted down to meet his gaze. His boots made him taller, making the height difference he and Mike shared even more pronounced. Will shivered when he felt a hand press against his lower back.
“My choices are yours, my prince. If you would like me to distance myself, I will do so without hesitation. Would you like that?”
Will stared, mouth agape. Michael’s eyes were boring into his soul. Mike had never looked at him like that, and it was doing things to him. Slowly, he shook his head.
Michael smirked, looking pleased.
“Hey,” Mike snapped. “I said back off, okay?”When an alternate version of Mike, a strong, confident knight, appears in Hawkins, the Party attempts to help him get home, and Will attempts to survive his flirting.

At first, Mike was unsure how to approach him when he got like this. But they’ve been living together for months now, never further than five feet apart in their dorm beds, so Mike’s learned what works and what doesn’t.
It works when he wakes Will like this, with gentle hands and words, telling him he’s safe. It works when he climbs into Will’s warm bed, turning him on his side and curling up against his back, an arm over his waist and his cheek pressed against his shoulder. They lie together like that until Will’s hiccupping gasps soften into steady breaths, until Mike feels him go limp in his arms and he knows he’s fallen back asleep. It always works.
or: Will has nightmares and Mike is the only one who can console him. Not even Will's boyfriend can. Mike takes great pride in this fact.
