At first, Eddie’s concern eased - maybe Buck’s phone had died and he had gone to meet Maddie. But all hope left him when he opened the note:
I’m fine, don’t worry about me.
I’ll be okay.
Eddie’s heart raced. What did Buck mean, “I’ll be okay”? Of course he was okay—he was with Chris and Eddie.
OR
Buck is spiraling and needs out, he needs to fill the empty space that was left when Bobby passed. He takes a more drastic approach to this leaving Eddie trying to find a way to make Buck see that what he is missing is in front of him, in LA.

"Close your eyes."
"E-Eddie," Buck croaks helplessly.

Buck closes his eyes. Squeezes them shut, really.
Eddie tugs his face into the curve of Buck's shoulder before he can lose the nerve, Buck's pulse fluttering wildly against the tip of Eddie's nose.

He will be spending the next six weeks in England seeing how they do things over there, meanwhile, we have one of London Fire Brigade’s finest joining us. “Uh Cap?” Hen’s the one to ask which is great because Eddie’s coffee hasn’t kicked in yet, “Does this Brit have a name?”
Bobby frowns and retrieves his clipboard to peer at the name he has scrawled at the bottom of the sheet. “Evan Buckley. Send him my way if you see him, won’t you?”

"Yes, we should talk about that."
"About him moving out?"
"About Buck. In general."
"Why?" Eddie asks confused. "Him and I are not fighting at the moment."
Frank raises his eyebrow at him. "We'll circle back to that later."
Chris is back from Texas but that doesn't mean the work is done yet. Eddie goes to therapy, individual and family therapy, in order to fix his relationship with Christopher and he is on the clock because Buck, their buffer, is moving out soon.
And Buck is what he is being confronted by again and again during therapy.
When Eddie finally realizes his feelings, it is not all roses and sunshine. Christopher is vehemently against the idea of them dating because he doesn't trust Eddie not to mess it up. Eddie decides to honor his son's wishes until a case they work on shakes him up.Buck POV in the second chapter, and Buck is suffering through his own realization of feelings.
Basically my take on 'everything is about Buddie except for Buddie which is about Christopher'
