Beacon was supposed to be something new. Something wonderful and curious, a place she could learn to be her own person—no longer under the thumb of her father and away from the untold amount of Atlesian political consequences. She didn’t have to fear for her siblings at Beacon, didn’t have to fear for those whose strings sought her out in a frenzy—didn’t have to fear for potential bonded entwining their souls with hers.

Summary
AU: Blake Belladonna was bad luck. At least, this was Adam’s excuse when their crops began to fail. She was a curse, he liked to say. She began to dread each moment spent alone with him, and how quickly his eyes would flash with anger. Blake wasn’t a superstitious woman, but after a while, it was hard not to feel like she was cursed. Maybe he had a point.
But curses weren’t the only superstition in their village. One night, Blake heard a sweet song echoing through the valley. Blake had never heard of a banshee before, but she couldn’t believe that such a beautiful song could be an omen of death. There had to be more to it than that. So it was refreshing, to meet someone who agreed with her.
“You know,” Yang remarked, tilting her head thoughtfully. “You almost make me want to sing.”

Adora had been in her She-Ra form while having a planning session with the Princess alliance. All day, Catra had been stealing glances at her, inching closer to her and sneaking little touches here and there, trying to make her undone. Adora just about has enough and calls for a break, dragging Catra along with her by the wrist. She is not putting up with anything. Bow facepalmed and Glimmer simply waved the girls off sighing deeply while laughing to herself.

"She loved her. It ached within her. When she was younger, it ached in her in the ugliest ways. It made her angry, it made her jealous. She wanted to be the only person in Adora’s hurricane, the only person pulled into the vortex. She was livid when anyone else got close enough to be caught in the wind tunnel.
It took the end of the world to realize she was never in Adora’s vortex, as she had once liked to think of it (all consuming, painful, inescapable). There was never any reason to fight or claw or scream for her place within her storm. She was never caught in the wind, swinging out wildly, hands reaching for her, for golden, darling Adora, who Catra had wanted so badly, she was willing to die out in the gale.

Why did it take until now to realize that she wasn’t in the hurricane? She was in the eye. She had always been there."

“Just ask for Yang and tell her I sent you, she’ll get you all set up!” Ruby’s words ran through her head as she stepped out of her car in the gym parking lot. Her book club was the last place she expected to get advice about getting into boxing, but of course, the events in her life always had a hint of irony. Having a world champion boxer with the gentlest disposition for a father but falling for a scrappy street fighter with a wicked smile, rose-tinted glasses stopping her from seeing his disposition was anything but gentle. Why would the irony stop even after she had realized how it ran as deep as the bruises she’d had to hide.

Summary
Team RWBY rarely ever gets the chance to enjoy downtime. Being full-fledged huntresses means they are often wrapped up in some sort of mission full of strife, near-death experiences, and more often than not: Bloodshed. So when the team is presented with an opportunity to rest and relax, they naturally snap it up quick.
Ruby and Weiss' relationship has been strained ever since a rather unfortunate mission a few months ago. When they're alone together Ruby finally gets fed-up with Weiss' silence.
