There’s a honeymoon period, and a couple of months later, there’s a honeymoon.
By the good grace of Sam there’s a platinum credit card that seems limitless, so when Dean jabs a finger at Greece on the map there’s Valium for the plane and an argument in the swimwear section of the nearest department store, and after nineteen hours in a phallic metal tube full of second-hand air that makes want Castiel want to weep for his lost wings, there are white sand beaches fanning out below them, white guest house bed sheets that smell of the salt air they’ve been laid out to dry in. There are days and hours lost in devotion to skin sun-browned and sunburnt, to the wordless poetry of Dean barefoot and shy up to his knees in the surf, looking back at Castiel before he takes the plunge.

In July I wrote this on my tumblr:
concept: Cas hears Dean and Sam asking for ‘two queens’ at motels so many times that one time when he and Dean are on a hunt together he walks confidently up to the front desk and says “we are two queens”. the motel owner is like “yeah bud i guessed” and puts them in a king room. Cas does not notice anything is wrong. Dean is trapped in his own personal hell and cannot say a word.
This is the fic of that post.

Dean’s brain shorts out. This can’t be happening. This cannot be happening, right now, to him.
Why the hell did he let Cas watch TV, who thought that was a good idea? Angels shouldn’t learn about human stuff! It messes with their brains. It makes them weird. Cas is weird, and it’s Dean’s fault. Dean’s fucked him up by teaching him about Doctor Sexy and Britney Spears and erectile disfunction ads and dirty movies. He’s learning the wrong words.
Cas comes back wrong, and Dean has to deal with it.

Summary
After basically retiring from casual hookups, Dean figured that spontaneous, lust-fueled encounters were simply a relic of the past. He didn’t expect that they’d become a much more regular thing – a near constant thing, in fact – and in the privacy and comfort of his own bedroom to boot.
He’s kind of in awe of how lucky he is, that he gets to experience that same thrill he used to have during a brief night with a sexy stranger, but with someone who’s not only very familiar, but also planning on sticking around a hell of a lot longer than one evening. Still damn sexy though, in Dean’s humble opinion.
