Summary
In the city of Piltover, mistletoe is a fun and affectionate tradition, in which a twig of it is strung over doorways and amongst rafters, and if two people should walk underneath it at the same time, they exchange a kiss. It could be a little peck on the cheek between family, even, not necessarily romantic, but something to bring out bonds of trust and intimacy.
In Zaun, however, their own tradition is something called MistleFOE. If an unsuspecting person should cross underneath a dangling twig, they are free game to the first person who can strike them within a few seconds. They don't have to be decked, it could be a dropped bucket of water, a kick to the back of the knees, anything. Free game, as long as no permanent damage is done.
They, of course, do not think to explain their differences in tradition to each other.

"Buck, just come stay with us,” Eddie said again.
Buck looked at him like he was crazy. “Where would I sleep?”
“Where are you sleeping here?” Eddie asked, not missing Buck’s guilty glance at the pillows and sheets piled on his couch that answered his question. “I guarantee you my couch is just as comfortable.”
Buck seemed to really consider it for the first time, jaw twitching as he weighed Eddie’s offer but then he shook his head sadly.
“You just feel bad for me, laid up and staying here alone.”
Eddie shrugged. “Is that a bad thing? Caring about you?”

Cas looks even more tired than Dean feels. His eyes are red and the bags under them are more prominent than ever. His hair is a hot mess, reminding Dean of the time when Cas was still able to take off any second with just a flick of his wings. The cut on his neck is covered with a white bandage now and he wears different clothes, a gray sweatpants and a black shirt with a hole on the collar, that Dean recognizes as one of his. It makes him look different. It makes him look soft.
Dean likes it a lot.

Cas is back and that is great. Except that it worries Dean how much Cas struggles to adjust to humanity, haunted by nightmares and memories every night. So it's just a gesture of their friendship, despite Castiel's feelings for him, when Dean offers Cas to stay with him at night.
