“I missed ya so much, Yasuko,” his voice cracks, and hitches, and it dislodges the sob from your throat, because suddenly you’re 11 years old and he’s crying by your futon clutching spare change and a miserable wallet in his hands.
If you were stronger, you would’ve torn yourself out of the ropes to hold him already. You aren’t strong enough. Your chest hurts and you don’t think you like how much you’re crying right now.
You wish you had a gun with enough bullets to kill everyone involved in this. You wish you could kill 18 men in a ramen shop to fix all of it. To forget their faces after the fact, wipe your fingerprints off of the evidence, and get a loan of a 100 million to escape the consequences with your brother.
