She lamented that her oldest grandson had no interest in the things of God, saying he should be more like Joshua. She even asked Joshua directly to knock some sense into the boy—so he’d grow into a respectful young man, worthy of blessings, just like him.
Chan pretended not to hear. He simply smiled and kept telling Joshua that one day, he was going to be the most talented idol in the world and that he would have thousands of fans who would love him.
And Joshua... he just watched. Nodding and smiling politely as always, but never daring to say anything. Because Chan was the first person he didn’t want to evangelize.

Summary
The first thing that hits Joshua when he wakes up due to his 6:00 A.M alarm is the smell.
His eyes snap awake instantly, instead of the usual lavender smell from his scented candles, the smell is like the aftermath of rain – petrichor. The next thing is the sharp pain he feels on his back, specifically on his ass. The third point is how much softer and lighter the mattress feels, unlike his very own which feels like it’s made out of cardboard on the worst days. The final blow is the hand resting on his waist and the presence of another body besides his own.
And then a voice, that hauntingly familiar voice which he hears everyday first thing in the morning from his phone. That same voice which makes him want to rip his hair out. The same voice belonging to the person for whom he buys too overpriced iced americano at 7:00 A.M from a shop that is the opposite to his route to work from his home.
Oh God, Joshua just slept with his boss. Again.

Once, when the two of them had just gotten together, Joshua had asked him, voice soft enough to soothe any ache Jeonghan would ever have, “If we had the month to ourselves, what would you want to do?”
And Jeonghan had hummed, tightening his grip around Joshua’s waist. “I’d block out all that time and just take you out on dates every day.”
Joshua’s smile had been a delicate thing; a snowflake caught on the tip of a finger. “Every single day?”
“Mhm. From the very first day of the month until New Year’s. Just dating you and dating you and dating you, Joshuji. You’d get sick of it.”
“I don’t think I would,” Joshua had said, “I’d date you every day of my life, I think.”
Jeonghan had grinned, biting down on his tongue to keep from squealing. “Once we’re rich enough,” he’d whispered against the dip where Joshua’s bottom lip met his chin, “I’ll do that. Date you every day. For now, I’ll just promise you December.”
It took him a little over ten years, but he got there.
