Melt froze, attempting to break away but was held in place by some sort of force despite his protesting. “But you wanted me to—”

Summary
Maybe somewhere in the thick of it laid fragments of something real. Caitlyn wasn’t a bad person, and in fact, Maddie wouldn’t be wrong in placing her commander on the pedestal of people she deemed part of the good ones.
Maddie only hoped that once all was said and done, once Caitlyn was done playing games with her, using her, would she be deemed enough to still be kept around.

Summary
Melt wasn’t like Aqua at all. In the face of hardship, Melt persevered, improved, used his guilt as a kickstart to his self improvement no matter what anyone else said or thought about him. Aqua let his guilt drown him to the point of no return. It was like he was held undersea by an invisible weight, left to drown while Melt soared above, reaching for the stars.
Aqua and Melt— they were two worlds apart.
