Summary
Remember, all the government posters say, it was the Marked that destroyed the world.
The Old World was lost to famine and calamity and a new, harsher one has risen in its place. A city divided into sectors, ruled by a king and his chaebol court, where the Marked struggle to eke out a living in poverty and oppression, and one mistake can get you sanctioned forever - lost to hard labor in the factories and greenhouses or to life as a companion trapped in the gilded apartments of the inner sector elite.

Summary
Fingers still prying open the battery cover, Jimin froze as a quiet sound made its way through the ringing in his ears. A sniffle. Instinctively, Jimin looked around wildly, but opening his eyes only reminded him that he was completely blind. The flashlight. The flashlight. He squeezed his eyes shut again and frantically pulled the pieces apart, trying to keep them steady in his hands so he didn't lose them in the darkness.
Another sniffle. It was quiet – so quiet. Jimin wouldn't be surprised if he found out it was coming from three rooms away. However, it was so clear that it could have been right beside him. Jimin's breaths came out in sharp gasps, shaking uncontrollably as his mind provided him visions of phantoms and spectres, or maybe even just a small child with sopping wet hair and pure white eyes.
The batteries snapped into place and Jimin turned the light on. A dark red color filled his vision as the light penetrated through his eyelids, but he didn't want to open them. He didn't want to open his eyes and see something staring back at him.
Bracing himself for the worst, Jimin cracked an eye open.

Yoongi reaches out, strokes one of the trumpet blossoms. “They’re moonflowers,” he says, “They’re one of the witches’ flowers. Supposed to be invasive, and poisonous.” He drops his hand to hug Hoseok again, presses closer still. “Supposed to be bad, y’know? Scary,” he tilts his head up to look at Hoseok, “but they’re not, they’re beautiful.”

Hoseok finds Yoongi trespassing on his lake, and despite his best efforts they fall in love over flowers and coffee and too many dogs.

Summary
Over the world, the forest looms.
“And here you are,” Hoseok says. He rests his hand at the small of Yoongi’s back. Always touching. “And still alive.”
“Does that surprise you?”
Hoseok hums. It’s a nice hum; it fills the air, and even after he’s stopped humming it continues, a big bloody splotch filling the sky the same way the sunset is. “I think it does. You have lovely eyes.”
“Thank… you?”
And then Hoseok’s standing, pulling Yoongi up, his broad palms gripping Yoongi’s forearms, looping around his wrists. His antlers swing through the air, displacing sound and light, somehow the brightest things in the whole forest. “Let’s run.”

Yoongi is going through the motions of life, working on his brother's farm under the shade of the mysterious forest over the mountain. And then he meets some people, and then his radio starts speaking to him, and suddenly he's being courted by a gentle man in the woods, someone with a heart-shaped smile and auburn hair and antlers.
He doesn't mind, though.
It breaks the monotony.
