Phil looks at just what structure he’s found himself behind. He thought it might be a shed with its sturdy foundation and fence walls, but that’s not what he sees.
No, what he finds is a cage. And in this cage, there’s a person with small, light blue, feathered wings. Phil then traces the different shades of light blue scales dotted on their neck and arms. The final thing that confirms his suspicions are the slightly glowing whites of their eyes, which surround deep brown irises.
There is an allay-hybrid trapped in here.
OR: Wilbur's an allay who's been used by pillagers his entire life. Then an elytrian saves him. They're soulmates, apparently.

With another grunt, Wilbur lets go of his hand to bap him gently on the nose. it makes Tommy snort, and Wil’s eyes crinkle. Even hypothermia doesn't stop his Big Brother tendencies.

Hybrids do not have a place within this kingdom.”
The avian gives a light laugh, like Wilbur’s told him a joke. “No?” He tilts his head, the feathers on his face shifting with the curve of his growing grin. Wil can see a sharp tooth poking out past his lips. “Then why is there one standing right before me?”
Wilbur freezes. He looks up.
The king is looking right at him. He’s talking about him.

Wilbur was exhausted. It was raining and his throat hurt and with every step, Tommy was getting heavier in his arms. But he’d already made the kid walk so far today and in all honesty, Wilbur would rather deal with sore arms than a six year old’s tears of exhaustion.
Finally, Wilbur stumbled onto the street they tentatively— and illegally— called home. It was lined with identical townhouses, one of which was currently empty. They’d been squatting in it for nearly a month now. It wasn’t the safest place they’d ever slept, but when it came to insulating them from the winter chill, Wilbur would give it five stars on any hotel website.
Unfortunately, the window he climbed through was not the one they'd been using these past few weeks. This window belonged to the most terrifying man Wilbur had ever laid eyes on.
Or, while on the run, Wilbur and Tommy accidentally break into the wrong house. Technoblade finds them asleep in his living room. Family ensues.

“Listen, Wilbur.” Quackity’s voice was firm. “Whatever you’re planning- I’m not just going to stand here and play your little games.”
“I’m not playing any games,” Wilbur said, and there was a strange sense of grandeur in his voice, one that Wilbur couldn’t remember actually feeling in a while. “I found a bench, and I sat on it. Unless you’ve outlawed loitering, I’m perfectly within my rights.”
He didn’t mention how long he’d been there on the bench, that he didn’t quite remember when he’d sat on it or how he’d gotten there. He didn’t mention how he hadn’t slept in a while, his eyelids stiff with sleeplessness and vision hazy at the edges.
Wilbur didn’t know how or why he’d turned up at the edge of Las Nevadas, but he pretended he did.
