Summary
One would not believe how unreasonably difficult it was to get a form which even resembled a player.
You’d think that a reality bending demi god would be able to do it with a snap of his fingers, but no! It took uncountable amounts of time rifling through ancient libraries of forbidden magics to find a spell that even halfway worked! By the time Xelqua found one, the world was well past its third iteration and beginning its sixth. It was genuinely madness inducing.
But harder than even that, was a name.
Because Xelqua knew he was not always Xelqua. Once upon a time, he was a player just like those which roam the world freely. Once upon a time, he had a beating heart, flowing blood, and growing hair. He had a name, before apotheosis took it from him. His memories of Before are blurry, imperfect, inexact, but they persist. Through the training, through the times on an altar as watchers far older and far more powerful than him remade and remodeled him to their perfection, through the years where he drifted, modified and modernized, unrecognizable to the version of himself in his memories. His memories endured it all, and remained the only thing even gods couldn’t take from him.
And his name was Grian.

SCREAMMINGGGG literally one of the perfect interpretations of watcher lore. Screaming. Beautiful imagery and feelings about how G cant fit into his own skin and universe-altering power. He has an identity crisis so raw that I was full on SERIOUSLY SOBBING like nose snotty blocked sobbing. Absolutely epic
