17 year old Nigel Colbie isn't accepted by his peers nor his parents for being transgender. He's basically lives at the church from the town over—from how often his parents drag him down there to "make him normal." Nigel's parents think they filled out a form for him to be entered into Bradley's Grammar School for girls, but he switched the form right before mailing it. After cutting his hair and making himself more masculine any way he can, he gets accepted into Kingsley School. No one knows anything about the weird new kid that keeps to himself, and he doesn't care about getting to know anyone else either. Until he sees him—the principal's dear son.
