“Why? You’re a great writer,” Colin says from the corner where he’s been uncharacteristically quiet all night.
Penelope feels herself flame red. “It’s not my writing that’s the issue.”

It feels like she does. It feels like he’s supposed to hold her like this, captivate her with the heat of his flesh, the depths of his breaths, and the strength of his hold. It feels a little like home, and it devastates her to think like that.
But this is what she’s missed the most. These unparalleled moments where there are no guards or boundaries or weirdness. The parts of him that make her feel the softest, when he’s affectionate with her through touch, like yes, he missed her as in her personality, but also her as in the feeling of her skin and the softness of her hair, because she’s missed those things from him, too. This time though she has found herself in a situation that could ruin her life and she has absolutely no idea what to do about it.Colin Bridgerton travels the world, it is what he does, everyone knows that. What not a lot of people know is that he also spends a few months every year working at a holiday park in North Yorkshire in order to fund his travels. In fact the only person in his family who does know is his youngest sister Eloise, who this year he has allowed to work with him.
Penelope turns to Elosie for support, and is horrified to find her best friend is spending the summer with her youngest brother. Penelope had the biggest crush on Colin growing up. A mortifying fact that she kept to herself.
Will being close to Colin reignite her feelings for him? Because quite honestly the last thing Penelope needs right now is more complications in her already complex life.
