When they first meet, Fade and Neon don't form the best opinions of each other. They collide as enemies in the battlefield of a raid trap, with Fade accusing the Protocol of a crime they didn't commit and the Protocol seeing Fade as nothing but a threat too dangerous to leave alive.
Over time, they learn to see the good in each other, and eventually, learn to trust in it.
