Henry hears Alex mutter something under his breath as he stands in front of the kitchen window, watching as downtown Brooklyn wakes up with the rise of the winter sun. He looks cozy, Henry thinks, wrapped in a thick emerald green blanket set high upon his shoulders with a cup of coffee steaming between his hands. His gaze is heavy lidded, only serving to emphasize the pillow creases lingering on his cheeks. The early morning rays dapple his deep brown curls, lightening some of the unruly strands.
“I’m sorry, love, could you say that again?”
