“Why must you torment me thus?” Halbrand asks, pleading. “I felt it when you nurtured the fragment of my soul. You desired my return; this accursed face always in your dreams.”
Galadriel shakes her head “wanting you back and having you back are separate realities,” she says, her tone softening “feeling your touch again, of course I delighted in it but,” she pauses, takes another large sip from her wine glass. “I must also reckon with everything you have done. Everything I have done.”
“What did you do?” Halbrand snorts, “aside from ensure my lasting and humiliating defeat.”

For a moment time stops, everything suspended save the rapid rise and fall of their chests, their pupils dilating, a deep flush sweeping across their cheeks and necks. They are a mirror, the light and the dark in sync, muscles tense and swallowing hard, each sizing up the other.
Galadriel will never remember who actually moved first. It’s better to believe that it wasn’t her foot twitching and launching her into the arms of her hated enemy, pulse thundering in her ears and her own voice screaming inside her head now now now.

“You shouldn’t be here,” he says and then his lips are on hers.
He is but a dream, she thinks. This is not real. And she lets him kiss her…

She may have thought of him, the Dark Lord, on his knees in front of her; equal parts exciting and terrifying. The perfect imperious slope of his profile, the dismissive turn to his lips. How it had all softened when his head met her middle.
A guilty tendril curls through her. She swallows it down, and finds her voice. "I have done no such thing."

When Sauron stabs Galadriel above Eregion he unknowingly opens a rift in their minds that will haunt the two of them through the second and third age, and on until the end of the world.

At the end of the Third Age, before her departure to Valinor, Galadriel finds herself drawn to the ruins of Barad-dûr to lay her memories of Sauron to rest. What she finds confirms that she has not been the only one who has had trouble letting go of their shared journey back to Middle-earth during the Second Age.
Or: a one-shot based on a prompt on Tumblr suggesting an AU in which Sauron dealt with Galadriel's rejection by shutting himself up in his workshop, crafting jewellery and other finery for her in the hope she would one day change her mind. Resulting in a room full of trinkets dedicated to her by the time Barad-dûr falls.

Abed has started playing with one of Troy’s hands, tracing the lines and fiddling with his fingers. “Normally most people have left by now,” Troy’s hand tightens on his, a slight squeeze. Abed has said this before, on numerous occasions, but it still never feels good to hear. “But you guys haven’t and I don’t understand why.”
Abed lifts his head and looks at Troy—seriously looks at him because it’s easier to do so with him than with any other person. “I’m a bad person Troy.
“I really hurt people and I can’t even help it. I’m programmed all wrong.”
