When Redd returned to his hometown for Christmas, he only planned to see his family, then get himself and his dog back on the road again. He didn’t have plans to kiss another man under the mistletoe, nor take him home for a night, nor continue to enjoy his company in the days after, in an increasingly comfortable domestic manner. He certainly never considered that he’d want his family to meet Lohn, or, amazingly, they would actually like him. Now Redd might not want to part ways at all. But, the thing is... the longing in Redd’s heart is only one half of the equation. By his calculations, Lohn’s half doesn’t fully add up.

It’d almost become a tradition at this point; their go-to solution for stale ideas or bouts of writer’s block. Getting out of the city and back into wilderness, just the two of them, trying to cultivate an environment of minimal distractions and maximum creativity.
They’d had nothing but success with it before, so why should this time be any different?
