Summary
We all know how hard it is to ship non-canon pairs in any fandom, but Anisoka in Star Wars is an extreme case. Those who ship them often have to go all the way across the galaxy to justify themselves. No matter how much effort is put into separating this ship from the canon storyline, many (online) refuse to listen.
Over the years I have left comments here and there, and had many discussions with friends. I'm grateful for the support and respect I have received from both shippers and non-shippers alike. Here, I’ve put together a brief summary of those conversations because AO3 feels like a far safer space than most other platforms.
Update: Met with the same old type of lecturing again. Just wanted to clarify: 1. I don't know about the platonic tag or whatever tags; 2. I respect opinions from your ideas of "making sense" and projecting your experience and morals. I cannot further explain how I personally disagree; 3. I'm dealing with the fact that this ship received way more hate than other ships of the same kind.

Summary
Things are hazy for Anakin as he recovers from the abrupt end to his marriage to Padmé. While he struggles to keep the days straight, he slowly finds a renewed sense of appreciation for little things he’d never really noticed before. Like occasional calls with his former padawan, the smell of fresh grass or a pleasant breeze blowing across his skin. Maybe he kind of lost himself for awhile as he longed for a different life, but surprisingly not one he ever expected or with who he’d expected. Maybe the title of chosen one no longer held appeal, or weight. Maybe he just didn’t really want to be special anymore. Maybe he just wanted to know what it was like to be normal, to do normal things, to live a normal life. Was that even possible in the middle of a galaxy-wide conflict? If it was, would anybody understand the craving?
