“He’s trying to count backward from one hundred before he comes,” Henry explains, voice low.
“Yeah?” Alex watches the man’s stomach muscles tense and ripple, trying to stave off an orgasm as he pants out the next numbers.
“He leaks almost as much as you do,” Henry says. Then, after a beat, and almost offhandedly, “I don’t think he’s going to make it.”
“Yeah…” Alex agrees absently. “Wait. What?”
Henry hums noncommittally. That pisses Alex off.
“Are you insinuating that I can’t last a hundred seconds?”
“I’m not insinuating anything, Alex. But if we were to get into such matters… ” Henry pauses. “Thirty would be generous.”
“Thirty?!” Alex yells. “Pause that shit, we’re doing this now.”

She makes sure that Luke’s not actually paying her any mind — his nose is now buried in a battered notebook — before letting her eyes drift down the line of his arm, noticing the way his muscles ripple underneath tanned skin. She can’t tell if there are goosebumps from where she is, especially without her glasses, but she can definitely appreciate his well-defined arms that lead to equally hot hands, his fingers curled around a click pen.
Who knew watching someone scribble across a page could be so captivating?

“I can be very persuasive,” Alex whispers and it leaves goosebumps over Henry’s skin.
Trying to regain his footing, Henry says, “Uh, my email and office number are on there. You can contact either one and we can set something up.”
“And what if I wanted to set up something after office hours?” Alex asks with a glint in his eyes.

"...So?"
But Henry isn't responding, his train of thought cut off entirely at the sight of the cursive scrawl on Alex's now exposed chest, shirt entirely unbuttoned. The font is in perfect cursive, looping around the letters as his eyes hone in on two words in startling clarity, black ink against tanned skin.
Bloody child.
"Prick." Henry says, nothing more than a breath, and watches as the font curls and changes to reflect the word.
"Ex-fucking-scuse me?"
Panicked at the thought of Alex being stood directly in front of a mirror, he whispers underneath his breath the first word that comes to mind, “Gorgeous.”
“Are you having a stroke?”
In a world where the last thing your soulmate says about you appears on your skin, Henry has always wanted to see the black script curl across his chest. Unfortunately for him, his soulmate turns out to be the infuriating wedding planner determined to work alongside him, who has absolutely zero interest in finding his own soulmate.
Life is what you cake it, he supposes.

Summary
There’s a man in Henry’s bedroom. That, itself, isn’t noteworthy. He’s become rather proficient at smuggling men in and out of his room at Kensington Palace and his first-year flat at Oxford.
It’s not even especially noteworthy that the man is quite arresting. For better or worse, Henry’s title and reputation tend to help him pull gorgeous men with somewhat astonishing frequency. This man is, of course, particularly gorgeous. He’s tall, with olive skin, dark hair, and a bone structure that would send the old masters into a frenzy of pigments, linseed oil, and canvas.
But, perhaps, the most noteworthy thing is that the man in Henry’s bedroom is quickly and awkwardly wiping his eyes with the backs of his hands. That he seems just as surprised to see Henry as Henry is to see him.
Or, the handwavey, time-travelly, astral-projectiony, canon-smooshy AU nobody asked for, but we're giving it to you anyway.
