Leon had made his peace with those he could not save. He'd barely known Luis, after all. Seeing him again after being kidnapped from the president's motorcade made things more complicated.

“See?” Luis grinned at him, and it would take a gun to his head for Leon to admit the sight caused his chest to flutter like a schoolboy with a crush. “I had to give you a chance to pay me back.”
Leon shook his head, unable to keep his own grin at bay.
“You were a fine knight, Don Quixote,” Leon said.
“You still can’t say it right,” Luis teased. “But I accept your compliment.”
