Summary
Edgar was trained to be a weapon, Lucy was trained to be a compliant woman. Both of them suffered a terrible past, but having left behind the place that broke them they started a new life. Living under poor conditions, Lucy tries to financially support her brother and herself as well as she can, while Edgar writes and writes with no success in sight. They both know it has to change, and so Poe takes it onto himself to save them from debt. One mistake leads to another, and he uncovers more than he had ever been hoping to find.

The mind of the man had enthralled him, but so had the careful fingers while he had examined the bodys state, or the posture so confident and glowing it almost put Ranpos to shame, or his face, his brows that crinkled ever so slightly with every new evidence uncovered, he eyes, going through all different stages, widening in surprise, glowing in confidence, narrowing in fear.

Summary
Ranpo is inexperienced when it comes to physical intimacy (or, well, any sort of intimacy, for that matter) and is looking to change that. Poe, in a surprising turn of events, is not, and doesn't mind helping his "rival" out with that problem of his.
He's still not sure why the younger detective deemed him to be the most suitable candidate for the job, but he's certainly not complaining.
(And certainly not secretly jubilant at the prospect of deepening his relationship with the other man. Definitely not).
