Felix nods toward the restaurant. “This place is good. Good food and fair prices. Reminds me of my uni days.”
Hyunjin smiles softly, humming. “Can I make you some company, then?”
“Of course,” the blond beams, agreeing eagerly. “I've been meaning to schedule a date with you.”
Hyunjin pauses for half a second, which is about long enough to register the word date and the way it lands somewhere between pleasant and absolutely terrifying at the same time.
God, does he even know how to behave on a date?

“I don’t usually let this sort of thing happen—” Felix starts, then stops. He laughs softly, shaking his head. “That’s a lie. I do, on occasion. I just… don’t let one-night-things become more than they are, is what I mean. Hope you don’t… mind.”
Hyunjin’s heart stutters, but he keeps his voice steady. “I’m not asking it to mean anything.”
Felix looks at him for a long moment. Searching. Considering (god knows what exactly). Wondering if it’ll become a headache later, probably.
“Okay,” he says.
It’s barely even audible. Had Hyunjin not been slightly-inappropriately close to him, he wouldn’t have heard it.

Felix giggles and averts his gaze, seeming shy about being caught acting horny. “Yeah. You’re right. My bad. Wanna dance?”
Hyunjin should’ve said no. Really should have. He should’ve just kissed him again, maybe taken him out to wherever or something. But no! He just let himself be led to the dance floor. He let himself be impossibly close to Felix, who took advantage of that and made his life hell for at least thirty minutes non-stop with all sorts of provocative dance moves.
Hyunjin let himself get drunk on his liquory vanilla scent, let himself come so close to perdition that he could feel Felix’s skin melting on his hands like honey. He almost let Felix drive him insane.
To try and put a stop to that, he lowers his head enough to make himself audible to Felix. However, he doesn’t have the chance to get a word in before Felix turns and captures his lips in another kiss. — This one’s more desperate. Needy. Definitely has more tongue than the others. Hyunjin’s dizzy.
He’s such a doormat, ugh.

Hyunjin looked at me for a while before he smiled, and he caressed my hands with his thumbs. “My beautiful Felix.”
That was…
That was what made me who I am today.
Hyunjin used to call me a phoenix (and made the extra effort to force a bit of my Australian accent for the entire sentence) all the time. He called me phoenix instead of my name.
Because I hated the name that was given to me. I hated all of what I used to be.
Except the person I was when I was with him.
He told me I was a phoenix because eventually that me would die, but then, I’d be born again from the ashes, prettier than ever, mightier than ever.
He called me his pretty phoenix because he thought I had enough warmth in me to become a human-sized flame.
His tongue just happened to roll that one bit that night. He called me his Felix and not his phoenix.

[...] However, there was a guy that lived exactly in front of him. His bedroom was right in front of Beomgyu’s bedroom. Mirrored apartments. He knew for a fact that this guy lived alone, but he had never seen him leaving or coming home. “In your mind, apparently,” Yeonjun giggled.
“Seriously, though,” Beomgyu pouted.
“I’m here now,” he dismissed the question with a sigh, kissing the younger’s nose before stealing a quick peck. “I’ll be here for as long as you want me to stay.”
In his dream, Yeonjun was soft and gentle. He was warm and felt like home. He was love in its purest form.
“I don’t want you to go again,” Beomgyu hummed almost inaudibly, burying his face on the other. “Don’t want you to leave.”
“Then I won’t,” he assured as his fingers ran across the expanse of Beomgyu’s back.

“Okay,” the younger nodded his head slowly in acknowledgement, blinking his eyes a couple of times before inhaling a bit sharply and rising from the couch. “Thank you, hyung. It was- it was a nice first kiss. I’m glad it was you.”
“No need to thank me, stupid,” Yeonjun gave him a shy smile that, once more, didn’t reach his eyes. “I’m glad you trust me enough. If anything, I’m here for you.”
Famous last words, really. Because it was bound to happen again.

“No will do, honey. You got me wrapped around your finger,” Yeonjun smiles beautifully at him, nosing on the sweet spot again. “Can I make you mine again?”
“You better,” he giggles, fingers threading on the dark locks slowly and caressing the scalp beneath them. “I’m not moving a muscle for the next lifetimes as a punishment. You’ll have to do all the work by yourself.”
And that’s totally fine by him. Even though they’ll have their lives continuously interrupted by problems in Heaven and being recruited to war again and again, all while hiding in their free time.

“Not in this lifetime,” Yeonjun hummed just as quietly. “Maybe the next one?”
Not in this lifetime. Maybe the next one.
It was plaguing his mind, honestly. The more he tried to push it away, the more he couldn’t get rid of it. “You keep saying that,” Beomgyu murmured when he was sure the alpha was fast asleep. “You always say that and you never mean it.”

Soobin had told Yeonjun that if he knew Beomgyu in person, he'd understand why he can't make his choice. He'd know why he's on top of a wall, scared to dump one of them and pursue the other.
Best of cases, that's mildly offensive, you know. But Yeonjun still wanted to know who was making Soobin so confused.
Bless his soul, that Choi Soobin. Beomgyu really is the gem that Soobin had said he was.

Wherein Hwang Hyunjin is sadly insecure about his physique and very much attracted to his bandmate who is obsessed with muscular guys. It's cliché, you can see it all coming, but it's good to read something you're comfortable enough with the idea of, because nothing surprises you.
