    Summary

"How can you call it gambling when the outcome is already pre-determined? I will take my chances with a losing bet than settle for a fate that doesn't agree with my principles."

"That does sound like something you would do," Phainon says. "But I'm not quite the gambling type."

"Aren't you?" Aventurine raises an eyebrow, issuing a challenge that Phainon does not see coming. "Thirty-three million, five-hundred and fifty thousand, three hundred and thirty-six."

The IPC takes the most pivotal step in extending a hand of friendship to Amphoreus. Even through the pitfalls of such a volatile alliance, Aventurine and Phainon end up turning that overture of friendship into something more.

[ A canon-divergent scenario, written post-3.4. This fic contain spoilers for that version.

    Written before 3.5 release. ]

    Summary

Apocalypse: Star Rail might be the worst game Dr. Veritas Ratio has ever played. In what world is murdering half the known universe for no reason even remotely reasonable? What kind of game kills off its most compelling characters just for shock value?

Also, why is he now in the game — and as a damn NPC, out of all things?

【 Activation Code: “Moronic developers, moronic game.” It is our sincere wish that during your time, you can fulfill your desires and, in accordance with your wish, transform a piece of moronic work into a magnificent, high-quality, first-rate classic. Bound Role: Unnamed male NPC of the Veritas Prime star system, age 0. 】

【 Congratulations! Welcome to Apocalypse: Star Rail, version ██! 】

Well. If these idiot developers can’t take constructive criticism, Veritas might as well construct the criticism himself… by forcibly inserting himself into a plot where he’s never existed.

    Summary

Aventurine stumbles, any chance at a win vanishing in an instant. "Why did you call me in here? Is there no one else whose heart you can delight in the weakness of?”

Jade waves away the bite in his words. “I take no delight in my project’s weaknesses. In fact, I want to help you.”

Aventurine knows what she’s going to say before she speaks.

“I have a proposal for you,” Jade says.

    “I’m listening,” Aventurine replies.

Or, Aventurine and Ratio can't be together. Jade offers a solution in the form of a contract, and when Ratio vanishes shortly afterwards, Aventurine finds himself facing the decision alone. Meanwhile, Ratio races against the clock to find his way home, and stop Aventurine from signing his soul away.

    Summary

Everything Aventurine said and did was to elicit another response with which he could construct his profile on Dr. Veritas Ratio. Naturally, Veritas left their first interaction as quickly as he could for his own safety.

But he slept with Aventurine a week later.

After Aventurine is hospitalized, Dr. Veritas Ratio moves to the Intelligentsia Guild’s Pier Point location to monitor his recovery. There, Veritas learns two things:

    1) He might need help navigating the social circles in Pier Point.
    2) A fully recovered Aventurine of Stratagems is a force to be reckoned with.

    Summary

“You’re not…” Childe’s head may have been angled like a baffled puppy, but he couldn’t help it, “Put off by all of that?”

As the disk of orange dipped below the Liyuan waters and the twilight sky remained illuminated by dusky remnants of what had been, Zhongli’s golden-edged features took on a radiance of their own. It wasn’t the lights playing tricks on him when Childe saw the man’s eyes gleam, and he craved to know what that meant.

“Perhaps I give you too much credit.” He was smiling, now, and Childe’s breath caught in his throat. That was certainly new. “Maybe you do not listen as much as I thought you do.”

Childe processes just how different Rex Lapis, God of Contracts, and Zhongli, Wangsheng Funeral Consultant, really are.

They coincide at the worst of times, and it does some truly awful things to his heart.
