Summary
It really should have been something that Martin would have foreseen. Jon was not the largest man, he barely remembered to eat if Martin didn’t shake him out of whatever he was caught up in, and he wasn’t exactly the type to visit the pub regularly. Even with all of these factors, however, he was still surprised by how quickly the alcohol hit his boyfriend. They’d picked up a bottle of some manner of what Martin had thought was regular cider but, upon serving, turned out to be much darker and stronger. A couple of glasses each, and Martin was pleasantly relaxed.
Jon, on the other hand, was leaning heavily against his side, bony shoulder digging in as he gestured wildly in an attempt to remember what he’d been talking about.

Kabru finds his eyes glued to the video. Most people who defend monsters online, he’s found, know shit about them. They live in sheltered cities, far away from any actual dungeons, and the closest they’ve come to seeing an actual monster is in an Elven-made VR game. They’ve never died from a basilisk’s fangs in their throat.
